A Question asked from a Citizen

Q. Are Elected Officials supposed to file a Personal Finance Report with the Texas Ethics Commission?

A. Please see the following Link "Individuals Required to File Personal Financial Statements"  These Personal Financial Statements are OPEN RECORDS!!!

Q.  After the voting ballots have been counted where are they kept in the event of another recount and who is in charge to make sure no one tampers with them?

A.  From reading the laws, The County Clerk and the Voter Registration Clerk are in control of all of the ballots.  The ballots are stored in a secure location that is accessible only to authorized individuals.  The memory cards from the electronic machines are also stored in the same location.  All paperwork is stored with the ballots, and they should be retained for 24 months.  From what I have seen here concerning elections and paperwork, who really knows about Red River County.  The laws do not seem to be followed on much of anything else!!!

Q. If the officials in this county do watch this web site would any of you like to tell us what the heck is going on out at the Whittle place with the roads.  We can't do anything about this it's all up to the Judge, Val Varley, and the Sheriff.  (E-Mail Opinion)

A. I don't think that I would hold my breath for an answer to this one!!!
