Meet David Hamilton for 6th District Judge

I have been actively seeking the office of 6th District Judge since June 2007. My association with law dates back to age 19 when I started college. I became a police officer, and continued to work in law enforcement for 7 years through undergraduate school and law school. I hold the Advanced Law Enforcement License and I am a certified Instructor through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education.  I was selected by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (the highest court for criminal matters in Texas) to serve as a briefing attorney which is a one-year term. After that I went into private practice for several years then became a felony prosecutor for about 7 years. I tried about 200 felony jury trials, loosing only one. I returned to private practice.

When prosecuting , I advanced victim issues at many levels (see web site) I have published in professional journals and I have presented and Co-presented at regional and national conferences on about 40 occasions.  Last year, I served the City of Paris on the charter revision committee. About 4 years ago I was the first Chairperson of the Reno (Tx) Crime Commission.
