Meet
David Hamilton for
6th District Judge
I have been actively
seeking the office of 6th District Judge since June 2007. My
association with law dates back to age 19 when I started college. I
became a police officer, and continued to work in law enforcement for
7 years through undergraduate school and law school. I hold the
Advanced Law Enforcement License and I am a certified Instructor
through the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and
Education. I was selected by the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals (the
highest court for criminal matters in Texas) to serve as a briefing
attorney which is a one-year term. After that I went into private
practice for several years then became a felony prosecutor for about 7
years. I tried about 200 felony jury trials, loosing only one. I
returned to private practice.
When prosecuting , I
advanced victim issues at many levels (see
web site) I have published in professional journals and I have
presented and Co-presented at regional and national conferences on
about 40 occasions. Last year, I served the City of Paris on the
charter revision committee. About 4 years ago I was the first
Chairperson of the Reno (Tx) Crime Commission.
