Editorial on the Human Race

   It is 1:28 a.m. and I had the urge to write so here I sit.  I have been watching an old Star Trek on TV Land, and it made me realize something.  This particular episode was about the Vions who were trying to decide which civilization in their solar system was worthy of being saved as their sun was about to nova.  It made me wonder about our civilization and whether it is worthy of being saved.  There is so much evil, greed and self righteousness here on our little planet that I wonder......

It also made me wonder about Red River County.  As I have stated before I am not perfect and without sin, but who of us is.  I got to thinking about the murder of Commissioner Alton Peek.  From all that I have been told about this man, there was no reason that anyone should hate him except for greed, or personal gain.   What is so appalling is that there are a lot of people who know a lot more about his death than I do, and no one is willing to even make an attempt to correct this horrible travesty.  This man from what I have been told was a descent man who was honest, and cared about the people in this county.  I have never heard anyone say anything against this man, so he must have been a good person.  He might have just been another citizen to some, and someone or one's hated him enough to murder him. 

What I don't understand is the darkness that is in this place (Red River County).  There is an evil that everyone is unwilling to face.   Bodies are found in ditches, and women come up missing.  I did not know  Jennifer Bench but I have seen a photo of this young lady, and she was beautiful.  I did not know the young woman who disappeared  on Hwy 1159, but she was someone's daughter or sister, and she was definitely a human being.  The two bodies found in the ditches of this county were at one time human beings also, just like you and I.  This is what disturbs me.  No one seems to care.  Have the people in this county lost all compassion for their fellow beings.  I am appalled that not only here, but everywhere across our great country that people just kill each other, and think nothing about it. 

How could anyone just kill someone and go about their daily life.  We are talking about getting up in the morning with blood on their hands....  looking at their selves in the mirror  as they brush their teeth, combing their hair, going to work, eating lunch, being around other people, going home, being with their family, eating dinner, and going to bed, and they do it with the blood of another human on their hands.  I cannot comprehend anyone being able to do that and not go crazy!!   How could anyone be so cold that they could murder someone in cold blood and still live their lives among all of us here in this county and feel nothing.  If you think about it they walk among us every day, because these murders were committed by beasts who are here among us right now.   How could they have no remorse, or feel any guilt and still remain sane.  They must have lost all conscience, or be nothing but beast, and they walk among you and I everyday.  I would die from fear of burning eternally much less my own conscience eating me alive.  I cannot fathom the burden that would weigh on any human that did something like this.  The only explanation is that they are not human.

How could our legal system do nothing, yet it does and may even be covering it up.   Is our law enforcement unwilling or just unable.  Has some of our race become animals.  Even dogs love each other.  They love us, and are faithful.  Of course there are beasts in any beings, but there seems to be more compassion among animals here in Bloody Red River County than there is among some in the human race.    I cannot imagine knowing that someone I knew was involved in a murder and not go to someone who I trusted even in another law enforcement agency.   They know the facts, and sit on their hands.  It makes them just as guilty as the murderer.   How could anyone just sit by knowing a person they knew had murdered someone in cold blood, and do absolutely nothing.

Has the human race become so callused and cold that we can let murder be condoned?  Has our legal system become so corrupt that it can just turn a blind eye?  Have good, honest people become so afraid that they are unwilling to speak out against the evil that commits murder? 

I have been told by some whom I talk to that I had better be careful.    I say that the Good Lord breathed the breath of life into my body, and that my soul is his to take at his pleasure.  I hold no pleasure in hastening the process, but I am concerned enough about my fellow man to stand up and talk about what evil is and what it looks like, and what should be done to it.

I am a person who cares about the dogs I see on TV who are in shelters.  I care about the coyotes who have even killed one of my own personal pets.  I do not hesitate to shoot at them if I see them to protect my pets and chickens, but it still bothers me to have to kill them.  I do it to protect my own, and not for personal greed, or gain that I took from someone else.

My own dear wife is withering away before my eyes, and I would gladly give my life to save her, but I have no power to do anything.  That is why I do not understand how any human being could take the life of another human being for no good reason (other than protecting what is legally ones own) and have no remorse whatsoever.  I can also not understand knowing the secret of someone killing someone, having part of the facts to prove someone committed murder and not stepping up to hold them accountable.   Our legal system has the facts, but does nothing!

I watched Mississippi Burning, and thought Bloody Red River County Burning!!  It sickened me and I was too young to really comprehend what was happening during that time, but I realize it now!

If any person reading this has committed murder, or holds the secret of a murder, I pray (and I ask that any human with a conscience reading this to pray) that you suffer serious mental anguish until you admit your wrong, or tell your secret.  If you choose not to do what is right, I pity you when you face God, because your real eternal suffering has not yet begun. It definitely will once you pass without righting the terrible wrong you have committed, or the terrible secret you protect.  Wake up now before it is too late, because if you can read this you still have time left.
