You may not know this, but there was a lawsuit filed by former Deputy Karen Groves against an individual in the County Government.  The lawsuit has already been through the process and settled.  I requested a copy of the case file, about 4,000 pages and was presented with an estimate of cost for the copying and labor at $700.00 by the County Judge.  After talking with the Texas Attorney Generals office about the matter, I found that I could request to "VIEW, and Copy the records on my own equipment", and sent a letter to the County Judge PP along with the ruling from the A.G.'s office on this type of request.  I have heard nothing from him about when I can copy the records, but if he charged $700 he said I could have them 8/16/2006, which is two days ago.  It seems that he is trying to stall me with high prices, but does not want me to copy them free as the law states that I can.

Today I received information in a round about way "and I don't know how valid it is" that the County Judge, the "VV Express" and his Chief Investigator Mark Perkins are "after me" for lack of better wording.  They said that while I was working on their computers that I left a back door into their system and was accessing their information.  Rumor has it that the FBI is involved. 

My words to them are and I quote... " I don't need to access your computers to get information illegally.  I have the law on my side, and will get any information that I want through the legal avenue of an "Open Records Request"."  This type of bunk that they are spreading is just that, and it shows the mentality of the legal system and the "VV Express" office here in RR County.  As for the county judge and Mr. Perkins,  you guys have broken the law and everyone knows it.  Would you really be stupid enough to try and "Trump up some false B.S."  just to keep these records about this lawsuit from becoming public knowledge?

Remember folks that I stated that if they had something to hide that they would fight hard to keep it from the people's eyes!!!!!

I made contact with the Special Agent from the FBI that I know in Dallas. I told him that I was not after information, and that I was just giving him information about what I had heard.  He said that this is a smoke screen to try and stop me from further inquiry, and that if any of his agents  were involved in an investigation of this type that they would have already knocked on my door to talk with me.  I know for a fact that this man tells the truth.

Just a thought.  If they did trump up something to harass me, it would be a violation of my civil rights, and the county and the officials involved could risk becoming poorer than they already claim to be. 

This could also possibly be considered slander if they are putting out false information about the way I do business, to hurt me.  This could make the county and them personally poorer also.  So step very lightly fellows..... now everyone, and I do mean everyone knows of your intentions.  

This may be fact, and it may just be a smoke screen blown from the foul winds of the putrid carcasses in the Courthouse...
